Jack Daniels SiB Gold 132.8 Proof, ECBP A121 & Booker's Tagalong BLIND TASTING HEADS UP REVIEW

Handcrafted Bourbon Whiskey Custom Bottle Gifts WhiskeyGifter.com

Blinded! Firstly, all 3 of these are exceptional bourbons in their own way and we love all three... but there has to be a winner and Jack Daniels SiB Gold 132.8 Proof edged out competition in a surprising blind competition Friday. Here is the quick & dirty:

#1 Jack D. SiB - Last on finish, but first on total package. The nose is sweet cherry cream cheese pie, oak, brown sugar and melted butter. Palate is very balanced transitioning well into a medium finish with oak, vanilla, graham cracker & cinnamon spice. The finish (even though the shortest of the 3) sticks to the roof and front of the tongue for a well balanced, complex bourbon. I've said it before, this is one terrific bottle value in the $60 category...

#2 Booker's Tagalong : Cinnamon, oak, vanilla and a terrific barrel char on the nose. Palate transitions seamlessly to the finish with sweet cherry, cinnamon and vanilla. This one has the best "Kentucky Hug" and longest finish with a hint of orange citrus.

#3 Elijah Craig BP A121 Batch - 2nd best finish, everything about this bottle stands apart from the other two (but not enough to win the overall matchup). Nose is vanilla, oak, chocolate and cloves. Here is were we definitely could smell a stronger ethenol proof over the others, which is surprising as it is the oldest in age! Palate is very oak, vanilla forward with hints of dark chocolate that transitions into a fine Kentucky Hug medium finish of oak, vanilla, cherry and dark chocolate around the back of tongue.

All 3 are winners in our book. If you have one of these bottles, count your blessings!
